PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer

After the completion of the IDC you have an opportunity to achieve the rating (MSDT), Master Scuba Diver Trainer through an internship program.

The pre-requisites for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating are five specialties and certification of 25 students within any level of the PADI System of Diver Education. During Sunshine/Ban’s Internship Training you are not only taking a MSDT Preparation Course but you actually certify 25 students and finish off as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer.

During this 4-5 day program, you can choice to become instructor in five of those specialties:

  • Enriched Air Instructor
  • Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) Instructor
  • Deep Diving Instructor
  • Photo Instructor
  • Video Instructor
  • Naturalist Instructor
  • Multilevel Instructor
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy Instructor
  • Search and Recovery Instructor
  • Night Dive Instructor

Additional specialties available:

  • Re-breather Diver and Instructor
  • DSAT Tec Deep and Apprentice Tec Diver Instructor

Once the preparation course is completed, candidates can begin their internship straight away (see later in this guide for more details).

Day 1: Orientation

Day 2: Nitrox Theory and Nitrox Dives x 2 pm

Day 3: Deep Dive Theory and Deep Dives x 2 pm

Day 4: Search and Recovery, Navigation & Night Theory and 3 x dives pm

Day 5: Digital Underwater Photography & DPV - Diver Propulsion Vehicle Theory and 2 x dives pm

Day 6: Optional Wreck Dive (Full Day Trip on the Trident Boat) COST : 4,500 Baht


MSDT & Internship Program: Cost: 22,000 Baht (includes 7 Specialties)
Minimum 25 certifications obtained through interning with experienced instructors.

Five (5) Specialties Only: 18,000 Baht
(not including interning with experienced instructors)

PADI Fees with Option One : CD Signature
Cost: $65.00 Australian Dollars Per Specialty
MSDT Application Fee: $85.00 Australian Dollars
