Marine Conservation Koh Tao

The Marine Branch of Save Koh Tao is a coalition of Thai and foreign residents and business owners from Koh Tao.

Programs developed and initiated through the group are chosen by the community mem bers and funded through private donations, merchandise sales, and fund raising events. For 2009, the group will also be raising money through the SSI Ecological Monitoring Program Courses taught in the island dive schools. Marine conservation is vital for the long-term sustainability of Koh Tao’s economy and environment, this proposal outlines the background and future goals for the island through the Marine Branch of Save Koh Tao . The goals and projects described here are being developed by the marine b ranch, but conducted together with the larger Sa ve Koh Tao group and the island co mmunity.
