Search and Recovery Specialty Diver
Hang around water, and search and recovery is inevitable. Eventually you’ll need to or will be asked to search for something underwater. Besides the practical advantages, one of the most gratifying experiences in recreational diving is setting out to find and recover a lost object – and succeeding.

The Search and Recovery Specialty Diver course is conducted over two days and includes four open water training dives. Each dive will develop new skills to navigate in limited-visibility and bottom topography. Proper techniques and safety considerations will be applied for object location, including the use of various search patterns, lines and reels, tieing knots (bowline, the sheet bend and half-hitch knot methods, along with the use of lifting devices to assist with recovering objects.

To participate you will need to be 12 years of age or older and be a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Junior Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

Accommodation is reduced for 2 days during the course.
